Puerto Princesa City, inihanda ang P500M at COVAC para sa bakuna

Nagbuo na ng Covid-19 Vaccination Council (PPC-COVAC) ang Puerto Princesa City, Palawan na siyang mamamahala sa pagbibigay ng bakuna sa kanilang mga residente.

Base ito sa Executive Order No. 1, Series of 2021 CREATING AND ORGANIZING THE PUERTO PRINCESA CITY COVID-19 VACCINATION COUNCIL (PPC- COVAC), DEFINING ITS FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES na inilabas at pinirmahan ni City Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron.

Kasunod din ito ng kanilang paglalaan ng halagang P500 milyon upang makabili ng Covid-19 vaccine. Target nito na mabakunahan ang nasa 70% ng kabuuang populasyon ng syudad.

Bahagi ito ng naging pahayag ni Mayor Bayron sa report ng GMA News And Public Affair Digital na inilabas noong January 4.

“We are targeting P500 million, kaya nating hanapin P500 million. Itong quarter na ito, in-evaluate na ang lahat ng napondohan, baka may pwedeng ‘wag na muna kasi kailangan natin ang P500 million. Bakit P500 million? Kasi, ang target natin ay 70% of the population.”

Ganun pa man, magkakaroon ng prioritization kung sino ang unang mabibigyan ng bakuna.

Ayon sa Section 4 PROSPOSED VACCINE ALLOCATION/PRIORITIZATION LIST ng EO 1 S2021, prayoridad ang mga Health Care Personnel, kasunod and Frontline Essential Workers.

Ang Frontline Essential Workers ay kinabibilangang ng mga sumusunod:

  • Firefighters who assist in decontamination activities
  • Police Officers, Military Personnel and Law Enforcement Officers
  • Bureau of Correction Officers, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Officers and personnel
  • Food and agricultural workers
  • Postal service workers
  • Private courier services workers
  • Logistic and supply chain workers
  • Public market and private grocery store workers
  • Financial services workers in banks and money remittances
  • Public transit workers
  • Educational sector workers (teachers, support staff, and daycare workers)

Pangatlo sa prayoridad ay ang mga tinuturing na ‘Immuno-compromised Individuals tulad ng:

  • People aged 75 years and older due to high risk of hospitalization, illness and death from Covid-19
  • People aged 75 years and older who are also residents of long term care facilities
  • People aged 65-74 years because they are at high risk of hospitalization, illness and death from Covid-19
  • People aged 65-74 years and older who are also residents of long term care facilities
  • People aged 16-64 years with underlying medical conditions which increase the risk of serious, life-threatening complication from Covid-19
  • People with underlying medical conditions which increase the risk or serious, life threatening complication from Covid-19

Pumang-apat sa prayoridad ang mga nagtatrabaho sa walong natukoy na sektor, kasunod ang mga residente na naninirahan sa lugar na mataas ang risk ‘widespread transmission’ ng Covid-19, ganun din ang mga minimum wage earners tulad ng ambulant vendors.

Nasa huli ng listahan ang mga City officials at empleyado, kasama ng mga opisyal ng barangay at empleyado.

Ang COVAC ay pangungunahan ni City Health Officer Dr. Ricardo B. Panganiban bilang Chairman.

Sa report ng Palawan News Online, binigyang authorization na ng Sangguniang Panlungsod ng Puerto Princesa sa kanilang sesyon noong January 8 si Mayor Bayron para pumasok sa Memorandum of Agreement at Non-Disclosure Agreement sa isang pharmaceutical company para bumili ng bakuna.

Hindi naman nabanggit kung libreng ibibigay ang bakuna.
