PGO, SP to appeal for vessels to waive ambulance fare

Ambulance is expected to be free of transport fare on-board boats as they deliver patients who are already financially burdened down. And this is what PGO and SP hope to accomplish in months to come.

The Provincial Government of Occidental Mindoro has started exploratory talks on how they can provide free fare to ambulance on board maritime vessels plying the route of Batangas – Abra de Ilog route, July 2.

In a Facebook post by Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Gov. Ed Gadiano, Vice Gov. Peter Alfaro and members of Sangguniang Panlalawigan discussed the matter in a meeting at Sangguniang Panlalawigan Office.

The shipping companies serve the route – Montenegro Shipping Lines, Starlite Ferries, and Orange Navigation.

The post also said the group is trying figure out on how they can put the same in a resolution.


It is to be remembered that days leading to the oath taking ceremony of Occidental Mindoro provincial elected officials, Oriental Mindoro’s newly elected Gov. Bonz Dolor signed a Memorandum of Agreement with shipping companies such as Montenegro, Baleno, Fast Cat, and Starlight, to provide free transportation to ambulance going to Batangas, including the patient and others on board the ambulance.
