Mamburao LGU employees to donate for Taal volcano eruption victims

Mamburao employees have been asked by Mayor Lyn Tria to voluntarily donate for Taal volcano eruption victims in different areas in Batangas Province during Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council 1st Quarter Meeting, January 24.

Following the lead of Mayor Ben Tria of the Municipality of Looc, Occidental Mindoro who donated P250,000.00 to the Municipality of Calintaan after being devastated by typhoon Ursula, Mayor Lyn Tria has asked the regular employees to voluntary donate any amount from their salary to help the victims of Taal volcano eruption.

Mayor Tria’s request came after she was informed that some families from affected towns in Batangas are now taking refuge with their relatives in Mamburao.

While Mamburao LGU is still in the process of addressing its own constituents affected by typhoon Tisoy, she said, Batangas Province as the gateway to Mindoro Island, that her administration has a moral obligation to provide assistance to Taal victims.

Acknowledging that Mamburao constituents affected by typhoon Tisoy is the priority beneficiary in the utilization of its calamity fund through Quick Response Fund (QRF), she opted to request for employees to voluntarily donate, either in cash or in kind.

The collected donations from Mamburao employees will then be sent to appropriate agency tasked with looking after the Taal volcano eruption victims.
