Cong. Josephine Ramirez Sato’s 6-year legislative life

A member of the House of Representatives is all but a lawmaker. Cong. Josephine Ramirez Sato is a member and her primary job is to legislate. Few may realize that she has sponsored and co-sponsored close to a hundred bills. Some were already approved and passed. Some still going through Committee hearings. A proof of her productive legislative life in the last 6 years.

Friday afternoon, June 29, Cong. Josephine Ramirez-Sato formally secured her third term as member of the House of Representatives after taking her oath of office in the Municipality of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.

The Tiger Lady

Known as the Tiger Lady of the Congress, Cong. Ramirez-Sato gained her popularity as a feisty member of the Commission on Appointment, grilling Presidential appointees down to their spine which, in most cases, cost them their Cabinet position in Malacañang.

JOSEPHINE RAMIREZ SATO LEGISLATIVE LIFE
Cong. Josephine Ramirez Sato. Considered as the Tiger Lady of Philippine House of Representatives.

Her popularity was also noticed by United Nations and had her commissioned to lecture the world in terms of environment and biodiversity protection.

Being a member of the House of Representatives is not only about obtaining funds from the national coffer to provide infrastructure and social projects to the Lone District of Occidental Mindoro. Primarily, as a Congresswoman, she is mandated to craft, pass, and be part of approving laws the Philippine Congress. And Cong. Josephine Ramirez Sato was able to do her mandate.

Back On Track

Yesterday, after her convincing victory in recently concluded Midterm Election last May 2019, she will start her seventh year as a legislator. In months leading to election, her proposed and approved House Bills intended for Occidental Mindoro came to life. While such is expected of her to boost the welfare of the Province Island, some would still say it’s still far for her to receive an “A” mark as a legislator. So the question now is. “how did she fare in other areas as a legislator?

We did some diggings and here’s what Cong. Sato has rolled up her sleeves with in the House of Representatives in the last six years.
