He confirmed this in an interview with Inquirer.Net Thursday morning.
“Actually yung binanggit po ni Presidente ay na-relieved na, at tuloy-tuloy naman ang imbestigasyon namin sa mga nagsa-submit ng mga reports.”
During the Livestreaming of Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s Talk To The Nation last December, he ordered the District Engineers who were included on the list submitted by the Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission headed by Commissioner Greco Belgica to vacate their positions .
The district engineers singled out were Lorna Ricardo, De Marlyn Inguillo, Anna Lee Manzano, Carol Lyn Abinales, Editha Babaran, and Edmundo De Luna, GMA News reports as mentioned by Pres. Duterte.
Sec. Villar added that there will be a re-shuffle of employees in DPWH, but assured that their functions will not be hampered.
“Magkakaroon din po kami ng ridogon sa loob ng Department. Maraming magiging pagbabago. Tuly-tuloy naman ang aming laban against corruption.”
Aside from 14 that were initially relieved, the Department is still in process of investigating other employees based on the complaints submitted to them, he said.
He then asked other agencies to help in building up the case against those implicated.
“Humihingi din kami ng tulong (sa) mga ibang ahensya para magkaroon ng case build-up sa mga complaints.”
Sec. Villar however did not name the 14 relieved district engineers.
